Course Overview
This one-day course is designed to improve your boat handling skills, especially in confined areas such as marinas and in swell and waves. You will learn more about engines and types of crafts and practise navigation techniques on a passage.

The course will include an evening on water navigation component.  Please bring appropriate clothing and wet weather gear.

Course Outline

(1) Online Theory - Wednesday 4th May 2022 5pm - 8pm (links to be emailed prior to session)

(2) Practical on water - Saturday 7th May 2022 9am - 5pm

Course Prerequisites

Water confident. The skills and knowledge gained in Start Powerboating or equivalent power boating experience.

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who wish to further develop their powerboat driving skills. This course is also a prerequisite for becoming a Dinghy and/or Windsurfing Instructor.

Course Outcome

You will gain your Powerboat Handling completion certificate.

In some instances, you can take your completion certificate to your State Maritime Regulator and gain the State Boat License.
