Dear Sailors

It is with a heavy heart that I am writing to you to advise you that in consequence of the NSW Health Directive to Community Sports and communications with Australian Sailing, we are now no longer in a position to invite the Asymmetric sailors of the East Coast to our Club for this event this season.  We are still able to run a smaller event for our Club members, which we intend to do, but we can't have "athletes from other regions" come and attend the regatta.

We are bitterly disappointed that we won't be able to see Charlie & Aaron and their amazing 18' skiff team blasting along against a mighty International 14, a few 16's, and a swag of youth skiffs and cats ... but are deeply grateful that you all signed up for the event. We will be issuing you with complete refunds, and will also be posting a set of regatta shirts out to you all as a thank you.

Please stay safe within your own Club communities - all of us are being challenged in unprecedented ways to come up with great ideas to make the coming season fun, memorable and a hoot all around - we are of course fortunate in NSW to be in a position where we can pretty freely get out on the water, so lets all rise to that challenge!!  I know Beasho has some great plans up his sleeve using technology and a go for it attitude - if you think of something cool and innovative then I can assure you HHSC will be into it!!

Hunters Hill Sailing Club supported by BoatCrewGear.com and BoatRopes.com.au are delighted to present the 2020  “Asymmetric River & Sprints”  racing weekend, on 29/30 August 2020. With Covid 19 restrictions, we've changed the format from training on Saturday, racing on Sunday, to a long river course race on Saturday afternoon, and a sprint day on Sunday.  We've dropped the entry fee to $30 per boat, which includes a regatta shirt and a BBQ post racing.

We had such a good time last season, with Ants, Nacra15's, 29ers, 49ers, 16' skiffs, F16s, F18's and a Weta all blasting around the bay in rock star conditions from the south east!!  Check out Adco's great video from last year here https://www.facebook.com/ADCOconstructions16ftSkiffTeam/videos/2311371505627526/

This weekend is all about dusting off your fast off the beach asymmetric rigged weapon of choice, and heading out in the late Winter weather to kick off your 2020/21 campaign!!!  

Is it serious??  Sort of - we just love seeing fast boats out in the Bay blasting around with folks having an awesome time!!!  And who knows, the people you meet might just be your next crew or skipper some time down the track!!!

What this is not … a grimly serious, overly briefed yawnfest … lets get out and sail!!!! Especially after we have been locked up for so long!!   HHSC now has a really vibrant squad of 29ers, Nacra 15's and a FX, and we look forward to welcoming you down to the Club, in a safe and sensible way!!

We will be having a BBQ after sailing on both days, so please come along and enjoy the fun. Our new downstairs canteen will be open as well!
